Guided Walks

Enjoy our Garden

The Botanical Garden is a great place to come and enjoy your lunchtime sandwich. It is also an interesting place to take a stroll, viewing a variety of most attractive plants. But it could be like reading a book in a foreign language - you will enjoy the pictures, but you will miss out on the plot.

Why not arrange for one of our volunteer guides to take you around the Garden: interpreting the succession in the Afro-Montane forest, introducing you to the many faces of Fynbos, illustrating the mechanical wonders of Mesemb seed pods, and perhaps even finding a tiny frog inside an Arum lily?

Ons gidse is toegewyde vrywilligers wat hulle tyd gee omdat hulle graag die interessanthede in die tuin wat hulle self deurentyd ontdek, aan ander wil oordra.

Guided walks can be arranged through the office, preferably with a day or two's notice. A small donation (currently R10 per person) towards the upkeep of the Botanical Garden is appreciated. A simple tea or coffee can be arranged. Our guides speak English, Afrikaans, Swedish and German
